Grindelwald is a town in Switzerland, a popular ski resort in the canton of Bern. It is located at 1,034 m above sea level, just 12 km northeast of Wengen. With its area of 171.1 km², the municipality of Grindelwald ranks fifth in the canton of Bern. The highest point of the municipality is at Mount Mönch (4107 m) and the lowest is 720 m above sea level. Grindelwald is a charming alpine resort known as one of the most peaceful and beautiful places in Switzerland. It is the starting point for climbing the Eiger, Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, Jungfrau and Mönch peaks. The population of the municipality is 3,775 inhabitants.
