Amuliani is the only inhabited island in Central Macedonia. It is located in the Aegean Sea between the arms of Sithonia and Athos, in the bay of Sigitikos. It is the closest island to the Mount Athos. The permanent population of the island is 542 people. The population of the island is mainly engaged in fishing and tourism.
It is connected to Tripiti Port by ferry. The area of the island is 4.5 square km. The island is wooded with olive trees. It is known for its beautiful sandy beaches, the more famous are Agios Georgios, Alykes, Porto Agios and Drenia.
