The Phoenix is a city park in Dublin. It is the largest public park in Europe. It was established in 1662 by James Butler, who was the Duke of Ormond. Phoenix Park is located south of the River Liffey. The area it occupies is 707 hectares. The predominant vegetation is of broad-leaved trees such as beech, oak and sycamore. They occupy 30% of the park space. Many monuments and historical buildings are located in the park. Here is the presidential residence built in 1750. The entrance to the park is full of flower gardens. They were established in 1840 and are an excellent example of the craftsmanship of Victorian gardening."Phoenix Park" is equipped with playgrounds, artificial lakes and picnic areas, which further ennobles the park space. During the summer season, Phoenix Park hosts many musical performances.
