The beaten stones are rock formations located 18 km west of Varna. They are located in 18 large and small groups on an area of 7 square km. This natural phenomenon has no analogue in Eastern Europe. Around the limestone columns with a length of 5 to 7 and a thickness of up to 3 m, a naturally formed desert has formed, which is home to many rare species of cacti, mountain rose, acacia and others. There are many hypotheses about its origin, but it is believed to date back to 50 million years ago.
